There are more & more teachers (including primary, secondary, higher education & adult learning) using Twitter as a teaching tool.
The Teachers Who Tweet Blog is a space to a share ideas, information & teaching strategies.
If you know of anyone out there tweeting from, in or around the classroom/lecture hall - contact me at lwatego [@] gmail [dot] com

Update 4th September, 2009
I originally started this, partly because I thought the name 'teachers who tweet' was too good to do nothing with, but also because I want to put all the stuff I was finding (all the great resources) as I was learning to tweet. But I've slowly become so immersed in other activities (like my new The Critical Classroom blog), that I've completely neglected what I still think is a great idea. So i'm back. Have been tweeting since mid-2008, and have learned soooo much, can't imagine where I'd be without it.
I think I'll start using Teachers Who Tweet has a space to encourage more Australian (and overseas) teachers to develop their Personal Learning Network. I did a lecture for 1st Year pre-service teachers at a Brisbane university last week, when I mentioned PLN, they just looked dumbfounded. I mean, I know they're only first years. But the time goes so fast, imagine if they start embedding all that great knowledge (like using Twitter, Blogging etc) now rather than wait until they're in the classroom and overwhelmed as first year students. teachers.
The other challenge for me will be working out if I can manage more than one blog at a time. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, that's the idea. Let's see how we go! Come along for the ride hey?
